KattyCat, green-fingered cat.

It's official: my parents love me.
They brought me back my own wee garden from the shop - full of Nepeta racemosa. (that's the name for geeks like mummy, the plant biologist. It's actually called catnip, or catmint, or KattyCat's-very-own-favourite-thing-on-earth).
I love it.
I love it so much that i'm going to lick the leaves everyday, to make sure my plants are well watered.
One needs to be very careful with catmint and maintain a high humindity to make sure one gets lots and lots of new leaves in the weeks to come.
One loves being a gardener.

I find that my idea of gardening and my human's idea do not go hand in hand. I very much enjoy sitting in the cloches she puts out for me, but she seems strangely put out and claims I am ruining the plants (as if this mattered). Ditto the litter tray she digs for me. A whole square of loose earth of just the right texture. But when I use it, she mutters about seedbeds.

KattyCat, one is also showing a trenedous degree of self restraint in not mauling every little leaf until it's one big soggy mess of green dribble. Very well done!

George: i have to say that i'm lucky: my humans don't seem to care about gardening unless it's to bring me catnip - thus said, it may be different if i were the outdoor type, and i very much like the sound of that lovely loose earth. I've heard talks of trying to take me to the garden again - i'm not too sure, i like to look at it, not so much to feel the grass under my paws...

Whicky Wuudler: my twin here !! Thank you very much for your praise ! I've decided to be a good gardener and to take care of my wee patch as best as i can - i heard laughs though the other day when i was climbing in the pot to check on the back corners. I don't always understand why they laugh, but i don't mind amusing them !

PLEASE, KC, don't mention the word DUCKS in my presence. I find it soooooo upsetting. As to chocolate eggs, we, that is, we members of the RWA try to persuade other folk, who are very selfish, to follow our Make Mine Chocolate campaign instead of taking on a real rabbit at Easter.
Nepeta? Yea, I like it too.

Harvey, are you telling me that bunnies "use" catnip too ? Or do you just like to eat it ?

Yep. Six Hills Giant mainly in my garden but I prefer parsley. My surrogate human sister has been in Edinburgh all week at a conference. She loved it. You might have seen her through your window. Her name is Alison but she is a criminologist not a botanist so you probably missed her.
I approve of cats being vegetarians. Keep nibbling the drugs.
Love, Harve
